Apps you should install before college begins

College life is always rushing. A lot of information comes to you and a lot of tasks that you need to get done. I graduated from an university in Japan but I have experienced one year exchange in the US as well. I started to work for a tech startup, Smooz, in Japan and have realized that I really should have used the apps that I am going to list up here during my college life. You definitely Evernote to organize your notes from classes. Not only classes but Evernote can be useful for variety of researches. Not only for classes, but you can use Evernote to manage your career planning. It can also sync with your Evernote app on your phone so you can check your notes anytime anywhere you want. Evernote would make resource management much more efficient than taking separate notebooks. So, definitely a must-have for college life.

Venmo is an app or service that you can connect to your bank account and transfer money among your friends. For example, if you go for a dinner with your new friends from college, it is such a hassle to deal with splitting cash. Venmo solves the problem and you can just say “venmo me $12!”.

Cab is definitely expensive for college students and if you live in suburb probably you won’t have a chance to catch a cab anyways. Try Uber and split the cost through venmo. Uber is cheaper than cabs and you don’t even have to pay tip.

College life is definitely busy but you’d get long vacation during summer. What you can do is to travel! but students do not have money. So, try KAYAK. It offers cheap flights and hotels. Skyscanner is also an option, but KAYAK can keep your schedules on your app.
